From Paris, with Love

It was the final day for the World Badminton Championships 2010 in Paris. All 5 matches: Men's single, Men's double, Women's single, Women's double and Mixed double were played. Only men's single and double are the real matches, as the Chinese opponent are Indonesian and Malaysian players. The remaining matches were the "internal affair" for the Chinese badminton team.

And the final result?

China 5, Rest of the world 0

China swept clean all the titles in this year's championship.

Men's single and double are my all time favourite match. This year's final saw Chen Jin beat Taufik Hidayat from Indonesia. Taufik is one of my favourite player. He has a powerful backhand smash, and he is good in net-playing. Whereas Chen Jin, he is like a no.2 Lin Dan. He is a hardworking man. Every return shots from opponent he'll try to save it, no matter how hard it is. He ran all over the court, left and right, back and front, like a little kid running over a place. Of course other players run around the court too, but their movements is not like the Chinese who started to move around when the opponent just return their shot. It's like their responds are very quick, and they move around easily, just like flying. In this final match, Chen Jin started off with a great starts, leading 7-0 in the first set and 5-0 in the second set, all points consecutively. But Taufik, the former Olympic and World Champion does not let the Chinese had some easy path. Taufik always find a way to attack Chen Jin, but somehow, Chen Jin managed to cope with it. In the end, Chen Jin proved he is much more consistent, focus and made less errors to become the new world champion.

Whereas the always thrilling and exciting men's double, was the last match of all matches. It is also the one that made me stayed up late at night when I should be sleeping cos' next day was a working day. Defending champions from China vs world rank no1's pair from Malaysia. The Chinese started good, but the Malaysian caught up and lead the Chinese throughout the first set, and eventually won the set. In the second game, the Malaysian were too eager and thus lead to made mistakes. On top of that, the great defense by the Chinese duo make it hard for the Malaysian who try to break them. As a result, the Chinese won the second and third set, and defended their title. It is worth to stay up late to watch it, because it really was a great match, with some rallies, powerful smashing and wonderful displays from all players.

Paris is a romantic city, but winning a championship title is more meaningful to the players. Love them or hate them, the current Chinese badminton team is now the best of the best. Merci, to all the badminton players for their hard work and beautiful shots throughout the week. We, the badminton fans truly enjoyed all the matches! =)

The other person that I love soo much is...

Wang LeeHom!

王力宏-the American born Chinese singer-songwriter, record producer, actor and recently become a director, is soooo talented!! His music is great and he can play so many music instruments! And, he is soooo good looking! I can look at him all the times, without feeling bored!! Ahhhhhhh!! Whoever become his partner will be very lucky, because he is so perfect! Ahhhhh!!!

Ah Pheng ar, nonsense aside lar. His music is great, coz I won't feel bored listening over and over again. And now he ventured into acting/directing field. For a newcomer in directing his first baby, or <恋爱通告> in Mandarin, I guess it's good~I'm not a movie critics, so I don't know how to criticize a film making stuff. But I think the storyline is good. Though it's a normal boy likes girl's theme, but the element to connect the boy and the girl is through music-music fromguzheng, an old Chinese instrument. But he is not an ordinary boy. He is a well-known singer. In order to find the girl whom he believe to be his soul mate, he disguises himself and went to a music academy to get to know her. So, basically the movie is filled with music when there is no dialogue among the actors. The movie also introduce the viewers on the Chinese music instruments. It may not be as high tech as a modern/western's instruments, but the music that was produced is great.

The movie is released with his latest album, <十八般武艺>. There are a few songs from the album in the movie, but I guess this song, <你不知道的事> stands out the most.

~Now I'm really in LeeHom's fever~

A note to you~

Dear KR,

It doesn't matter where you go, because we will always support you. You make the decision for your life, and we can only support you. It's good to know that you realized there are other things in a life and you wanted to try these other things too.

So what can we say? Just go for it!

May Lady Luck will always by your side!

Love,
YP

Once upon a time, I feel in love with this song~

Title:
Graduation (Friends Forever)

Lyrics:

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
But when we leave this year we won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of the night in June
I Didn't know much of love, but it came too soon
And There was me and you, and then it got real blue
Stay at home talkin' on the telephone and
We would get so excited, we'd get so scared
Laughing at our selves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feels

Chorus:
As we go on, we remember
All the times we had together
And as our lives change, from whatever
We will still be, friends forever

So if we get the big jobs and we make the big money
When we look back now, will that joke still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still be trying to break every single rule
Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?
Can Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
And this is how it feels

*Repeat chorus*

La, la, la, la; yeah, yeah, yeah
La, la, la, la, we will still be friends forever

Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there? Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end
And suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly

*Repeat chorus 3x*

*Specially dedicated to my friends from university, secondary, primary and kindie!

Pre Convo 2

6th August, 2010

It's time for my lovely SisTahs!!! Went to Queensbay to have some birthday surprises and karaoke at Neway for the first and probably last time for me in year 2010. Went by bus from USM with Lawrence and SzeSze and left out soon-to-be birthday boy ZheRong and MingWei and SzeSze who will be celebrating in September and December respectively. Siapa suruh awak lewat? XinMi and MingWei arrived halfway when we were singing. Initially we wanted to do the birthday celebration in the karaoke studio, but MingWei arrived on the last half an hour of our singing session. So we celebrated at the food court, where we met Chia Min after we just finished our singing session.

Like usual, we make scrapbooks for all our birthday boys/girls this year as this is the final year we as a graduates from USM. This time, not only we wanted to surprise ZheRong, but also MingWei and SzeSze. We really surprised ALL of them, and this is the best picture to proof (one of it, coz she too surprised lah).

I'll missed you guys a lot!!! (HamHam, u also lar...hehe)

Pre-Convo 1

5th August, 2010

Went to Penang 2 days before my actual day of convocation, for the convo's rehearsal. Arrived in Penang at 3.30pm. What's more? It's time to meet my SistAhs!! =) Straightaway went to Queensbay to have some tea break time with Lawrence, ZheRong and SzeSze at Kim Gary while waiting for the rehearsal time to arrive (8.30pm) .

Chit-chatting like we always had until dinner time, when XinMi, MingWei and SheiHan arrived one by one. Left the mall at 8.30pm and went to DTSP, USM's hall where I'm going to get my scroll from Vice-Chancellor with my robes, sash and mortarboard in another 2 days time. The hall was fulled with, sad to say, parents and relatives of the graduates. Shouldn't graduates be the one who listens to the dos and don'ts during the exact day? Why parents and relatives were inside too when there is not enough seats for us? Whatever it is, it doesn't matter for me now.

The so-called rehearsal, only showed us some video clips on how to wear robes and the dos and don'ts when we were on stage. And they did told us what we should do when the VIPs are entering the hall, when we should clap hands, etc. After about 1 hour, the session ended. Sien.

Meet course mates who came for the session too. Photo booming as much as we can until the convo's officer asked us to leave, so that they can check and make sure everything is in good condition for the next day's convo's session. Bo bien. We've not meet for about 4 months, of course we'll chat!

We then walked to the convo's expo. But then we finally decided to go to somewhere quite and air-conditioned, so we can talk better. We end up going to KFC and chatted until 12 am.

2007 batch of BATI-ans Rocks!!!

Huh? Been sacked????

I saw a white envelope under my keyboard this morning from afar, and I thought: Walau eh~I've just worked for one month and I got a letter? What had I done? So sueeh meh??

When I finally looked properly, it was this:

Fuiyooh!! Luckily it's not a bad thing!

I slowly opened the mail, and I got this:

Mengejutkan aku saja!

Upon seeing this, I knew who were the senders. Only my supervisor and a few colleagues knew I'll be attending my convocation in a few days.

Tadaa!!

And my guess was right. It was from them. They are also the colleagues who lend many hands to me when I needs help, because: 1 is my supervisor, so she have to help me, hehe...1 sits on my left, 1 sit on my right (who share the same birth DAY+MONTH except year) and the other 1 is opposite me.

Take a closer look at the part with pinky stuff in a circle which was full with stars~

Yippee! Thanx a lot to my lovely colleagues!

One night in Sri Menanti

Went back to Sri Menanti yesterday to visit my just-recovered-from-sickness'-grandma. Only reach there at 5pm cos we were late to start our journey. As it was just a short trip, mum decided to have dinner outside. We went to Bahau to have dinner with my 2nd uncle who stay in Kuala Pilah. In my family's background, whenever there is an extraordinary+happy+special "thing" has happened, major exam's-UPSR, PMR, SPM, STPM result is out, received bonuses, etc, we'll dine out, sort of celebrating the occasion. As I've started working and just got my salary, my "intelligent's" mummy asked me to treat. Well, now, for me, money is not a big deal. And before this, my parents had supported me for more than 20 years. So its my time to repay now.

Anyway, it was a small scale reunion, where we sit and have meal together. As usual, we chat while having our meal. We asked for 7 dishes, and all the dishes are great, as in it was delicious and the portion were quite big. As the bill came, it rounded up to RM 300!! It was the fish, 七星斑 which was the most expensive of all. The fish alone was RM130! I can't believe the fish is so farking expensive. Thus, my wallet bleeds, and it's getting lighter and lighter. It's time to visit ATM machine again!

Today woke up at 8.30 am and followed my parents to Kuala Pilah to have breakfast, cos mummy wanna go market to buy some vege to prepare lunch. Back in Sri Menanti at 10 am, and packed the ice, and then helping in the kitchen. Reached Shah Alam at 6.15 pm, so we went to have dinner. Came back home and did some house chores, before it was late night.

When the time for myself has finally arrived, it's time to say goodnight. Sigh.
