Tiring week!

For a specific reason, everyday my sleeping hours in this whole week was reduced. And I had to wake up early in the morning (I consider early morning lah) to go to work. Sien leh.

I want my sleeping hours baaaccccckkkkk!!!! Can I? Can I?? Can I????

I know cannot lah~

Anyway, today, first time using my hard earn money to buy a birthday cake for my little brother. It feels to good to have my 'own' money. I can buy whatever I want, spend whenever I want. But as far as I'm concern, I have everything I need now, which means, I can save it!! Wanna save for trips to many places in future!!! =)

Low class mentality

Oi, brainless people!

The road is for you to walk and drive, not to litter!!

Driving big and branded car actually show you are a person who really work hard, so you can afford to buy them, but your stupid LITTERING act makes you look sooo damn ugly! Doesn't suit the nice car at all!!! It's just a few minutes drive away for you to reach home. Can't you wait for a few minutes and dump your little rubbish in your own DUSTBIN??? After all, IT's YOUR rubbish, and it's supposed to BE in your own place.

High class accessories + low class mentality= LOW class human~

Luck of the Pot!

Another event on my third week on work-potluck! Brought a cake for the occasion., baked by my beloved mummy. Not a hard job, but I seldom involved in baking, so just let the pro do, I'm only the helper~weeeeee!!! The event was actually multi-purposes-promotion, resignation, and welcoming. Promotion: for the newly elected manager of my department, Zurim; resignation: for Blythe who had resigned 2 or 3 months ago, and last but not least, welcoming the 2 newcomers to the department, Shazwina and myself. Everyone brought over some food, and the food were enough for the whole days meals-breakfast, lunch, tea break and dinner. I heard they had this event annually, for gathering purpose. Started to eat at 11 am. 2 ex-BATI-ans (Bachelor Of Arts Translation & Interpretation) asked me when is my convo, and we had a little chat. I'm not good in conversation. Don't expect so much from me! Actually there were 5 BATI-ans, including my manager in my office. There are two who are 2 years my seniors, and another 2 are more 3 and 4 years my senior. Zurim herself is the first batch of the BATI-ans. From what I see during this event and the previous team building event, I conclude that all human beings are the same. We always find a place which is suit for us. We have our own gang, and whenever we have any events, we try to be together. I know the sense of belonging in a group very much, because I have my own group too. I walked with them, run with them, talked with them, eat with them, and slept with them too. So I know the feeling very well. Though I'm still group-less now, I think I'm ok with it, because I used to be a lone ranger during my secondary days. It doesn't means that I don't have any friends, I do know my colleagues. I can still mingled with them if I want. But basically, I always mingled with those around my age. But its not even a month since I started working here, so I guessed eventually it will be better.

Back to the potluck, there were many heavy foods-nasi lemak, kari rendang, vege, telur goreng, sambal, meehun, satay, salads, pasta and some other food that I don't know its name. And then there were desserts like fruits, drinks and my cake. We continued to do our job as we had done with the food. Whenever there is an event, I felt that the working hours passed by very fast. Before the office hour, those wanted to tabao brought along their containers and brought back the food!

It's an event pretty much like I had during my uni's day! =)

Got my official Convocation Notification Letter from USM's Registry Department 3 weeks ago~VVIPs have been informed, and total number to attend my convo has been confirmed. But there are few things to do before attending the event. Checklists as below:

  1. Accommodations during convo - booked
  2. Flights for grandma from Singapore - booked
  3. Annual leaves - approved
  4. Bus ticket to Penang - haven't buy yet

  6. Pre-Convo's accommodations (for convo's rehearsal) - settled

So far so good....

...but working life sucks!!! Been working for 10 days and learnt a few things. Now I wanted to say this: I MISSED STUDY LIFE SOOOOOO FARKING MUCHHH!!!!!! I can't loiter like I used to be, I can't online as much as I can, I can't watch movies/tv programmes like I used to, and most importantly, I CAN'T SLEEP UNTIL I WAKE UP ON MY OWN!!!!!!!!

Nonsenses aside, my job itself is pretty much ok lar....I've already expected it. People will find it as a bored job, but I'm ok with it. So far, been doing 2 episodes of dramas, 1 talk show, 1 reality show, and 2.5 education programmes. The colleagues are helpful too. Basically, everything is ok with me. No complains. I can still survive.

New semester starting...

but I'm not involved in it! Weeee!!! Kinda missed it. For the past 3 years, I've been waiting for each semester to start, so that I can meet with my bunch of crazy friends. Though I hate so much to leave my family for months and get back there to clean the dusty room, I think 3 years is such a short time. It's pity that I only had 3 years' of university life. From a junior to a senior, from semester 1 to a semester 6, there were differences in each semester, especially during the new academic years. It's fun to see/watch the new students, e.g. how they dress, and how they obey the rules! It's great to have this experience. And the most thing I missed during a new semester? The very first week of it. Not much of classes, lots of time to loiter around! Once, I actually went for Sakae Sushi three times in a week!!! Gosh! Really missed those times. Now that I've finished my studies, some of my friends just wanted to start their final semester or in some other cases, just wanted to start their final year's studies. All of them have a very good reason to extend. I don't know how they feel on study without us (we started in the same academic year). If I'm the one, surely I will missed those very much! All I can say to them is: Have fun in the coming semester, and wish you all the best!

Team building

Had only started to work for 4 days (exclude weekends), and I'm 'entitled' to take part in a team building event organized my department! LOL! It was a 1.5 days event, starting from Friday until Saturday, at Dusun Eco Resort at Bentong, Pahang. It is a place where families go for recreational or groups go for training purpose. The main reason for the event, I think, is actually for everyone to have some time off from work and gather together, plus train the whole department to be unite. For me, it was a time for me to recognize and remember each colleague's name!

As my department is not big, around 20 people, we manage to start the journey according to the schedule. It took about 1.5 hours to reach the resort. We reached there at about 11 am. We started the first activity, the obstacle courses before we check into our room, as our room had not ready yet. We took about 2 hours to finish the courses assigned to us. Basically, I think the obstacles were ok, not too hard. But I guess some colleagues were not familiar with these types of activities, so most felt it's hard. And some had acrophobia too. So it takes time to convince and persuade them to take part in some obstacles that include a high place. Then, we headed to the next activity, flying fox. I'm not satisfied with it, as it's only 200 meter, and when we were 'flying', it always move left and right, no matter how I adjust it. I still think Sunway Lagoon has the perfect one!

After that, we had lunch. Somehow, I felt like going to PPMS' training, as we have to wash our own plate and spoon each time after we had our meal. I missed the week at that camp! Then we had paintball. I just had my first paintball game 11 days before, and I know we need a proper attire so that we won't get hurt too much. Mana tau, the attire that they provided was even worse: we only had vest, literally vest, not the bullet prove type. I was like, Whhatt?? Only that??? 11 days ago, I had a bullet-prove type vest (the thick type) and a jeans type jacket which covered my whole hands and when I got shot, the bruise on my hand is still with me until today! With only the vest, how am I gonna survived the game?? End up, I didn't change my position when the game started. Luckily there were no good shooter, so I didn't kena any, although they fire like we were really their enemy. And with my team mates who were the simply opened fire type, we managed to end the game with victory, because our opponent had more members being shot. After that, we had tea break and then we checked into our room.

Each room had four people. I myself was in room with colleagues name Be Lan, Hui Ning and Suk Chin. Be Lan is the super senior among the three, and Suk Chin is two years older than me. The room has four single beds and a pillow and blanket in each bed, a steel cabinet to put bags/personal items, a chair, a fan, two lights and a built in toilet with a shower, sink, toilet hole, a mirror and a hook. That's all. And we have to put on the bedsheets on our own. The best part is, the water is very cool. They said that it is straight from the mountain.

We had our own time until 8pm, where we took our dinner in a gazebo. Dinner supposed to be a barbecue, but since it rains from 4pm, the person in charge of the event change it. So it's a dinner prepared by the staff there, but we still had some dishes which was roasted: fishes and chicken. It was a simple meal, so we finish quite early. After that, we had free time. The eight of us, the Chinese, squeezed into my supervisor's room to play Uno game. It was great, because I can know them better. It really helps, because during office hours, there are no chances to interact with all of them in this way. I think interaction in this way is much easier to know each other.

We played until 1 am. The next morning, we had breakfast at 9am, and start the jungle trekking at 10am. The track itself is quite challenging, where we had to climb a hilly and get down with our backside first. It was also very slippery, as it rains yesterday. The route we had choosen was the 1 hour route, and it's very challenging, much more from the Jerejak Island and Bako National Park. At least at Bako, there were some parts with wooden plank. But here, I think everyone needs a local guide because it's literally a jungle, with no guidance of plank wood or sign.

After the 1 hour trekking, we clean ourselves and pack our stuff before getting into a truck to get back to a bus station, about 10 or 15 minutes away. The resort itself is a bit outskirt, where no buses can enter. Hard to imagine? Just imagine a resort at the roadside of Malaysia's East-West Highway, that's the resort located, with handphone signal are very low.

It was a great trip, and I hope there are mores to come!

Induction day

I'm officially a working people now. To be precise, I am an ASTRO's staff! =) Today and half day of tomorrow is induction day(s) for me. New hired is exposed to the company's history, some important rules and regulations, etc, those boring stuff. But the best part was, we had a chance to visit radio stations-MIX fm, hitz.fm, LiteFM, MY FM, ERA, SINAR, XFM and THR, and met some of the deejays! Saw Adam C in hitz.fm's room, Rex and Non in LiteFM's room, Vivian 卓卉勤 and Josh Lai in MY FM's room, Royce 陈志康 outside MY FM's room, Wan Wai Fun in another room doing recording, and some other deejays that I don't recognized.

The environment in a media company is different from others. Though I didn't work at other places before, I can feel it. Your attire depend on your job, ranging from a full set of formal attire to shirts and jeans. Because it is a big company, the building itself is quite big also. Funny thing is, the highest building is only 3rd floor (if I'm not mistaken), but it was very wide. Because it is a big company, they have many departments, but because of space limit, some departments are not inside the main building. It is scattered around, like the department that I'll be joining. It is opposite the main building. Some are as far as Midvalley, but some are nearer to the main building, at Technology Park.

Tomorrow will be another induction sessions, only for the permanent stuff. It will end at lunch time, and then we will greeted by a buddy assign to assist the newcomer.
It was a new experience to know how a radio and tv station work. It's pity that my department is not in the headquarters. Otherwise, I might have a chance to meet some artists walking around! *Saw Nor Syuhaida Abd Razak shooting for Dottie the series for ASTRO Ria, channel 104 though.*
